Our programme of transition is wide ranging and spans the full academic year. We work very closely with our feeder primary schools throughout the year as well as a number of opportunities for Year 6 students to visit Longbenton.
A number of our staff work in the primary schools on a number of exciting projects including ICT, Maths and Design and Technology. Our Modern Foreign Languages Department also spend time teaching in our primary schools.
Key events and dates for the transition programme for 2011/12 are as follows: Year 4 to 6 open evening: Tuesday 13 September 2011
Year 6 Humanities fortnight: - Starts on Monday 26 September 2011 for 2 weeks. (This will also include talks from Year 10 students.) Please note - there will not be a visit into primary schools by Year 10 students this year. Year 6 information collection - Week beg Monday 21 May and week beg Monday 28 May 2012 Partnerships with Parents Evenings: Monday and Tuesday 25 and 26 June 2012 New intake half day (Science) visits: Thursday 28 June 2012 Full day visit Friday 29 June 2012 The Schools Music Festival- At the Sage in Gateshead – Tuesday 10 July 2012 at 6pm.
